   Welcome to the Foothills Prospectors official web site.  We are an organization founded and organized to promote the hobby of recreational mining and family recreational events.  The Foothills Prospectors has made application to Gold Prospectors Association of America for Chapter affiliation for the State of Colorado.  The organization would like to thank the founding organizer, Benjamin Underwood for all of his hard work in getting the organization organized and running.  The opened meeting had over fifty persons in attendance and after introductions of persons at the meeting the group organized the “Foothills Prospectors”.  The Club had it organizational meeting and election on August 4, 2009 and the Club is now dually organized. 

  

  The Foothills Prospectors meetings were originally set for the 1st Tuesday of the month but were changed to the second Monday of the month. The meeting location still at the VFW Post 4171 in Golden, Colorado and we thank that group of fine veterans for their hospitality.

Come and join us for our February Club Meeting at 7:00 PM at the VFW hall. The Denver US Mint will have a presentation and are here to answer any questions or concerns about that operation. Remember that we will also be planning several events, outing and other club functions for the year 2012.
